Radiate Peace
A guided visualization and potent practice
Episode 20:
Peace is something we can create but it also exists in the moment. This practice will bring you right into the moment and allow you to energetically reclaim your place in the world and the power you have to create meaningful change.
In this episode you will:
Connect to the energy of the land you're on and the 4 directions
Fill up with the energy of peace and send it beyond you
Hear one of my favorite poems by Mary Oliver
Here's the practice:
This example is based on the intention of radiating peace, but you can use this process with any other intention you'd like - just replace the word peace with your intention)
Connect to yourself and the land. We’ll start facing East.
EAST
Season: Spring
Element: Air
Chakra: Heart
Plant a seed of peace in your heart and send that heart filled intention to the East.
SOUTH
Season: Summer
Element: Fire
Chakra: Solar plexus
Let your passion support your intention. Connect to your passion and let the energy of peace overflow from you, fueled by the things that light you up.
WEST
Season: Autumn
Element: Water
Chakra: Sacral Chakra
As the vibration of peace comes in what do you get to surrender? Is there something you’ve been holding onto that you can set aside? Could you invite grace and gratitude to the things that no longer serve you?
NORTH
Season: Winter
Element: Earth
Chakra: Root chakra
Ask the Earth for a message about peace.
Close your eyes and imagine yourself at the intersection of those directions and allow yourself to radiate peace out like the sun. Feel the light of this peace touch every cell of your body as it fills you, your home, your community, and beyond the borders of your country until it’s so big and so unstoppable that it reaches all the way around the planet. Touching every part of our Earth for your highest good and the highest good of all beings.
Claim your space in the center of it all and the power within you to create peace.
Journal Prompts:
Look back at each direction and write down anything you'd like to remember from this process.
Art Prompts:
- You can take all of this into your studio and let your discoveries land on the page. You can draw a symbol that represents your own inner compass or a visual of you radiating peace.
"WILD GEESE" by Mary Oliver
You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
For a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about your despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting --
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.
