Creator's Club is an after-school art club for students grades 3-5 at MES. We explore foundational art skills, new materials, and creative thinking in a relaxed, positive, and encouraging environment.

Journaling, Collage, & Writing ($120)
ENROLLING NOW!
Students will each get their own sketchbook to focus on what they're most excited about for the year ahead. They will design a cover based on their goals for the year, learn collage techniques, writing, and different visual ways to express themselves. At the end of this session they'll be able to keep using the journal for the entire school year.
Design Basics: Inspired By Nature ($120)

Nature is one of the best teachers of design! In this six-week session, students will explore the natural world to discover foundational design principles like pattern, shape, color, texture, balance, and composition. Through drawing, observation, and creative projects inspired by plants, animals, and the world around us, kids will learn to see nature—and design—in a whole new way.

Drawing is a foundational skill that can be applied to almost any creative project—and in this six-week session, students will discover that learning to draw can be both fun and relaxing! Through simple, step-by-step lessons, we’ll build confidence while exploring line, shape, observation, proportion, and shading. Along the way, we’ll practice slowing down and being present, using drawing as a kind of meditation to recenter, notice the world around us, and see with fresh eyes.
Fun with Watercolor ($120)

Watercolor is all about exploring, experimenting, and letting the paint surprise you! In this six-week session, students will learn foundational watercolor techniques while discovering how water, color, and paint work together. We’ll practice brush control, color mixing, layering, and creating texture—while leaving plenty of room for play and creative expression. Along the way, kids will learn to loosen up, embrace happy accidents, and enjoy the beauty of the creative process.
Stacey graduated from DAAP at the University of Cincinnati in 2012 and has been working as a professional artist creating graphics, paintings, murals, and art classes for over a decade. She’s one of the moms behind the MES GotArt program. She’s so excited to have this time to share her passion for creativity.
